Pink super hero gives me the eye when I take his photo at the Race for the Cure

-->

DSC_0106

Today's photo, one more with a lot of pink from the Race for the Cure. You know that this super-hero-in-some-sort-of-pink-pants caught my eye. He must've felt me taking the photo because he aimed his razor sharp eyes right at me. I could see 'em through the lens!

Starting Sunday, October 5, I will be out of town, off to England and Scotland for a Trafalgar tour. So, I'm doing my best to complete posts for the days I will be out of town. I plan to search my photo archives for at least one photo that I took on that particular date at some point in the past. I hope you'll enjoy them!

UPDATE, 6:18 a.m. 10/4/2014: Evidently I did not take at least one photo on each day in past Octobers, to I've posted photos taken during October in past years. Enjoy!

Mustaches, hot pink mustaches. Why not? Lots of teams dressed up for the Race for the Cure in downtown Portland.

Flower Study, No. 3

Do you think these white blossoms started at like those pink buds? I wish I could tell from looking at the flowers when I took the photos and/or when I look at the photos. But, I just don't know. If you do, please share your knowledge. Thanks!

Nature's beauty, No. 4

--> DSC_1137_PM

What a vivid pink! I couldn't get over the fact that these flowers were growing in the ground, not sitting cut in vases at the local grocery store, their color due to some sort of dye wicking its way up their stems and out into the blossoms. Now, I don't know for sure if that is what happens to make those mums/daisies into a wide array of vivid colors. I'm just guessing. Still and all, this vivid pink is growing in the ground! I'm also in awe of the strength exhibited by these single threads of spiderweb, to be able to maintain themselves while loaded with so many dew drops. Absolutely amazing.

At the fundraiser known as the Special Olympics Polar Plunge at the Columbia River on February 9, 2013, a lady in black and white completed her look with a pink swim cap and bouquet of pink fake flowers.

Wearing a handmade silk banner emblazoned with references to Polar Bear and Polar Plunge 2013, the lady carries her bag of dry clothing which she must have put down on shore before entering the water. In this photo it looks to me like she heard that photographer say something that made her look back toward him. She turned to look, mid-step.

I know you're all focusing on how tightly clenched her toes are on her left foot as she put on the brakes!
